Total Lunar Eclipse & Full Blood Moon - July 27th, 2018
The longest total lunar eclipse of the 21st century is less than two weeks away! The total phase of the "blood moon" eclipse of July 27 will last 1 hour and 43 minutes, during which Earth's natural satellite (the moon) will turn a spectacular red or ruddy-brown color. From start to finish, the entire celestial event will last nearly 4 hours! The eclipse will only be visible in much of Africa, the Middle East, southern Asia and the Indian Ocean regions of the planet, but just like any other full moon, the energies will be felt by all! No matter where you might be on the planet, these cosmic energies will have an effect on you (regardless of your awareness to it or not).
July's total lunar eclipse occurs on the same day the planet Mars reaches its opposition, when it will shine at its best in the night sky. With the strong influence from Mars, this make this full moon/eclipse an emotionally challenging time. Anger and frustration could easily turn to reckless actions because of a harsh aspect to Uranus. A more gentle influence from Saturn will make it a little easier to calm down, and some fixed stars give patience and decisiveness in a crisis. With a total lunar eclipse in particular, the blotting out of the Moon represents a resetting of your emotions, clearing away the emotional baggage of the previous six months.

The total lunar eclipse in Aquarius is conjunct Mars. The fiery red planet makes this an emotionally challenging eclipse. A challenging square aspect to Uranus makes the heated emotions more impulsive but they are moderated somewhat by a gentle semi-sextile aspect to Saturn. The lunar eclipse and Mars are located in the head of the Capricornus Constellation. A number of fixed stars in this region give patience and trust, but also emotional problems which will create even more unbalance with the unstable emotions that come up during this time. Awareness of your thought patterns and your ways of communication (with yourself or others) will be important.
Mars has the strongest influence on the lunar eclipse and will make you feel strong, sexy and brave. Your quick instincts and fighting spirit can be used to defend your home and family. However, it will be difficult to control your strong emotions during this time. If you start to feel irritable, impatient, bossy or mean, it is a signal that you need to back off and try to relax. You are likely to lose your temper or act irrationally if you stay in an agitated state.
Mars influence on the lunar eclipse is the biggest reason you should make a conscious effort to stay grounded over the next few weeks.
